A Small Spark Worth Celebrating
December 2, 2025. We are just getting started here at TheQuietMission.
We’re now at 27 subscribers here at TheQuietMission. (And yes, we know some of you are friends who subscribed out of obligation)
Is that enormous?
No.
Is it adorable?
Honestly… yes.
A meaningful portion of those twenty-seven are personal friends who:
subscribed out of love,
were mildly confused, and
quietly wondered,
“Why does he keep writing TheQuietMission with no spaces?
Is that… allowed?”
To all of you: Thank you.
And also: We promise the story will make sense soon.
… Probably.
We started with zero in October 2025.
Now we’re twenty-seven strong.
And when the tiny spark on the Substack graph ticked upward,
we absolutely noticed.
We may even have smiled at our phones
in a way that would worry a bystander.
We’re not aiming for explosive growth.
We’re aiming for the kind of gentle expansion
that feels more like a circle widening around a campfire
than a crowd rushing a door.
Early subscribers are special.
You’re here before everything is clear,
before all the pieces fit together,
before the why is obvious.
You’re here at the “Huh… interesting” stage.
As we go, we’ll unravel the story behind TheQuietMission
(and yes, the missing spaces have a purpose).
But for now, we’re grateful you’re here at the beginning.
Thanks for showing up.
Thanks for sticking around.
And thanks for trusting the spark
before the firepit is fully assembled.

This piece hit me deeply. A reminder that small sparks matter the quiet moments that shape us more than the big ones. Beautiful work.
